Patrice Nichole (Rios), is truly one of a kind, with a stellar 15-year career she is celebrated for her expertise in combining interiors and cabinetry design. Patrice Nichole’s journey from earning a Master’s Degree in Architecture to founding Troo Designs, and now establishing her own boutique multidisciplinary design studio in the heart of Austin is an inspiring narrative of creativity, dedication, and success.
Patrice Nichole’s educational background at the University of Detroit – Mercy provided the foundation for her remarkable career in architectural design. Her journey took an international turn as she ventured into crafting luxury hotels in Shanghai, where not only did she experience significant creative growth but also developed a profound appreciation for hospitality design. The exposure to diverse cultures and design philosophies during her time abroad became a driving force for Patrice Nichole’s future endeavors. It emphasized the critical importance of seamlessly coordinated experiences and meticulous attention to detail across various disciplines in her work.
As the lead interior designer for The Colton House boutique hotel and Simona’s coffee shop on South Congress street in Austin, Patrice Nichole excels in translating the essence of boutique hotels seamlessly into her high-end custom residential projects. Her unique approach, particularly in the detailed layering of disciplines, with a special emphasis on cabinetry and millwork, distinguishes her in the industry enabling her to contribute to a multitude of residential remodels . This unique focus results in immersive and memorable experiences for those who interact with her designs, establishing her as a sought-after multidisciplinary designer. JAKE
Jake is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University with a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with minors in Business and Philosophy. For almost twenty-eight years he was in the automotive finance industry (DaimlerChrysler and Ally Financial) and the last fourteen years he spent as Senior Management in USA, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
In 2013 Jake started into a new career “flipping” homes in Austin and now he is involved with new construction as co-owner of Patrice Nichole Rios LLC. In addition to this, he is co-owner of Troo Designs Kitchens Baths Interiors LLC and most recently he became co-owner of Sige & Honey LLC a boutique firm selling and designing shipping containers to convert into livable space.

PATRICK
Growing up with a love for building and woodworking led to a career building and remodeling homes. Beginning work in northern Utah, with time spent in Seattle, Jackson Hole area and Santa Fe, he was offered the opportunity to design.
It was a pivotal career-changing moment to finally merge his love of creating with his experiences as an artist, chef, and gardener. Austin has been his home since 2005 and he feels it has been a pleasure having relationships with clients, designers, and builders that stretch back to the year he arrived.

Laura is a graduate from the University of Detroit Mercy where she earned her Master’s Degree in Architecture. After graduating she focused on interior renovations with an emphasis in Kitchen and Bath. Laura is currently working remotely in Paris, France with her family. Her design inspiration and forward thinking comes from her exploration of art and culture throughout her international travels. Laura has been a lead designer at Troo Designs and assistant to Patrice Rios since 2019. Her responsibilities include design layouts, 3D renderings, project support and estimating.

Kitchen & Bath Designer + Assistant
McKenna
Meet McKenna, a recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and minors in Architecture and Architectural History. McKenna discovered her passion for design during her freshman year of high school and has been pursuing it ever since. As a student at SCAD, she participated in numerous competitions and won the 2022 SCAD StartUp Fan Favorite Prize. Her recent study-abroad experience ignited a love for travel, art and history. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, McKenna now resides in Austin, where she hopes to continue developing her skills as a designer.
