Vacation Home Rentals have become extremely popular and competitive in certain markets. In order to make sure your home stands out, it is important to advertise more than just the square footage and number of rooms or bathrooms. Remembering to put a focus on the interior design to truly make your space feel like a home away from home is essential. Your interior design will not only stand out in photos, but will become the main focus when someone walks into your home. Investing in quality furnishings and materials is something you will quickly be able to capitalize on.
As interior designers we focus on listening to and understanding the needs and expectations for each space. Whether you’re designing your dream home or in this case, an Airbnb, we recommend focusing on the aesthetics to provide an inviting space for your guests and ultimately increase your potential profit.

Understanding your guests will help you provide the essentials for their stay. Does your space have a comfortable space to unwind and relax? If you’re attracting business travelers, is there a functional work space? If you have opened your space to families, are there safe and open areas for children to play? Are you providing comfortable mattresses and bedding? These small touches can make a huge difference when it comes to reviews.
The photos below feature an Airbnb located here in Austin, TX! We were hired to do the interior design and we had a blast with it! This house was designed for entertaining small groups with its indoor to outdoor transition so we made sure to optimize the space and dress it up accordingly! Although we are a big fan of cozy neutrals, we enjoy adding in color with accessories and statement pieces. We added pops of color by using patterned wallpaper in smaller areas to play off the neutral tones. Small spaces are a great place to add wallpaper and set the scene with a punch of pattern. Repeating prints are dynamic in these spaces and will help dress up the rest of the space.

For entertaining purposes we provided ample seating and varied the materials and type including neutral upholstered dining chairs, wooden bar stools, outdoor lounge chairs, sectional seating and accent chairs.

We also played with textures including velvety bright curtains, textured pillows, a dark patterned floor rug and royal blue accent chairs. These items added dimension, warmth and visual interest to the space.

Floral and greenery are a must for added color and offer the perfect way to play into the seasons. Here we coordinated yellow stems with the living room curtains as a centerpiece arrangement and tucked away small potted plants in neutral areas.

Bedroom linens were kept crisp white while decorative accents were carefully selected to brighten each space.

For a successful venture in the rental market industry, be sure to add character and style to your home by focusing on your interior design. To check out this entire project and see more photos click here! We hope you consider booking your stay here on your next visit to Austin!
