With more time at home, my daily routine has transformed to a slower pace and I am embracing the beauty in print. In my free time, I often find myself browsing through design magazines such as Dwell, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and Decor (a few of my favorites!). These are the much needed moments that I missed. Although you can read just about any publication online or on a tablet, I personally prefer printed copies. My home is filled with design books which I browse and rotate on display. There is something so satisfying about flipping through a book or magazine while enjoying coffee in a quiet space.
Not only do I find loads of inspiration which I ultimately use to enhance my creativity, but I also find myself using books and magazines as decor. I believe books should be displayed…hence why they are called coffee table books. Stacking books with beautiful covers in a color palette that fits you room is one of the easiest ways to make your table come to life. Adding simple objects on top of your balanced stacks creates a layered look that is still easy to move around. Pair this with some fresh flowers or a small plant and your table is complete.

Another one of my favorite things to display are magazine covers. This is an excellent project if you’re looking to spruce up a space while you’re home for this extended period of time. The perfect collage wall can be created with a few simple frames and your favorite magazine covers. You can frame anything from vintage Vogue covers to prints found in a recent magazine issue. When you frame these iconic images with a wide white mat, they become works of art in of themselves. I recommend hanging them gallery style for a curated look. If you make time for this art project, I would love to see your design. Find me on instagram and shoot me a photo of your work. However you choose to decorate with your prints, have fun with it!
